Hockey Coaching

Mike Hartman, Axiological Practitioner Life Coach /NASM and former NHL player.

As a young kid and teen athlete, I did not make it to the travel teams until I was 13 years old.  When I finally did make it, I always struggled to compete against the other players. As a professional hockey player, I had to be a dedicated player who had to mentally focus on the little things and details to stay competitive.

This was all through plans, rituals, goals and values!

During my career, I played with the Buffalo Sabres, Winnipeg Jets, Tampa Bay Lightning, Stanley Cup Champions New York Rangers, Team USA, European Leagues and the Minors.
My passion is helping young players improve in hockey core values, off-ice training, and nutrition.

Mike take a look at the drill comment by Kai from Finland. Click on a diagram and you get 11. The first shows how players in a Detroitvs pitt game transition between playing roles. Number 11 has a video of the Finnish National teams playing system by Erkka Westerlund. It is in Finnish but there is the english pdf attached. Lots of good stuff there.
