About Darren Jensen: Jensen was originally selected by the Hartford Whalers in the fifth round of the 1980 NHL Entry Draft. In 1985 the Mike Keenan coached Philadelphia Flyers signed Jensen as a free agent. In 1985 Jensen jumped onto the NHL scene winning his first game of the season against the power-house Edmonton Oilers. Along with Bob Froese, Jensen won the 1986 William M. Jennings award for the top goaltending tandem in the NHL. Jensen also spent time in the minor league with the Fort Wayne Comets, Hershey Bears, Fredericton Express and Milwaukee Admirals. Darren played 4 years at the University of North Dakota Fighting Sioux where he won 2 NCAA Championships. Darren is in the University of North Dakota Athletic Hall of Fame and in the NHL Hall of Fame. After retirement Darren served as a goalie coach for the Kelowna Rockets of the WHL (2003 to 2005), served as the Head Goalie Instructor with the world renowned Okanagan Hockey School and worked as a private tutor goalie tutor for various youth hockey organizations, camps and clinics across British Columbia.
