Squirt Jr Checker Playoff Weekend ends with uncertainty

Last weekend, March 5 & 6th, was playoff weekend for the Jr Checker Squirts in Raleigh , NC. The 2nd place Jr Checkers started the weekend against the 1st place undefeated Columbia Cyclones. It was an exciting, energy packed game which went down to the wire. Frank The Tank played brilliantly in net stopping an opening face off break away and showing brilliant form throughout the game.
The Jr Checkers broke a 2-2 tie with about 4 minutes left in the game to lead 3-2. Right off…

I am the parent of a hockey goalie. My son Franky is a 9 year old 1st year squirt playing for the Charlotte Jr Checkers travel team. Franky is better known as “Frank The Tank”. He choose this name for his love of anything military. I swear the kid knows more about WWII and modern military rifles than anyone i know. Franky started playing goalie in January 2010 after he got his 1st set of hockey pads for XMAS 2009.
