Cory is no stranger to Western, N.Y. and the local hockey scene. Forall of us old timers, you probably remember his father, former Buffalo
Sabre Larry Mickey. Larry started his NHL career with the Chicago
Black Hawks in 1965. His playing career spanned 10 years with stops in
New York, Montreal, Los Angeles and Philadelphia. He retired from the
NHL in 1975 after spending 5 years with the Buffalo Sabres. While he
had many accomplishments in the NHL, he was also known for his
community involvement with youth hockey and children with special
needs. His legacy lives on today as one of the founders of the
Buffalo Junior Sabres.

Cory is a life long resident of East Amherst where he spent his
formative years in youth hockey & Lacrosse. He graduated from Southern
New Hampshire University in 2005 with a Bachelors Degree in Sports
Management, where he played Division II hockey and lacrosse. Cory went
on to play 2 seasons of professional hockey in the NEHL for the Mohawk
Valley Ice Cats and Simco Ice Cats. Mickey then returned to Western
New York where he joined the Buffalo State College Men's hockey team as
an Assistant Coach and Director of Community Relations. He also was
one of the organizers of the 2005 AHL All Star Game.

In addition, Cory has worked with some very prominent hockey schools
including Pro Ambitions, Sky Hawks Hockey and Lacrosse Academy,
Maksymum Hockey, Buffalo Prospects, Sports International Hockey
School, NHL's Dave Smith Power Skating, Ryan Miller's Goalie Camp,
Mitch Korn Goalie Camps, and Jazosz School of Goaltending.

Cory continues to work with hockey players to maximize their potential
on the ice and in the community. Currently he is working with the Greg
Gardner Goaltending, and is an Assistant Coach with the Jr. Sabres.
He specializes in goaltender and skill training. He leads by example
and continues to volunteer his time with Variety Club, Aspire & SABAH.
